Working with Immerge

James Madison University and Immerge Technologies, Inc. have a strong and ongoing relationship. Immerge has worked with a number of departments at JMU and looks forward to working with many more in the future.

Immerge awarded JMU vendor status
In 2008, in a shift of policy, JMU limited outside vendors’ ability to contract with the University and solicited proposals from Web site design companies to be designated as approved vendors. In May 2009, Immerge became one of four companies awarded this vendor status by the University.

As most of its staff members and all four of its founding members graduated from JMU with undergraduate and/or graduate degrees, Immerge is pleased to continue this longstanding relationship with JMU as an approved technology vendor.

The Immerge process
Immerge strives to provide each department with a unique design that also stays within JMU’s style requirements. Minor extensions are developed when appropriate and are approved through JMU IT and University Marketing prior to implementation.

Past projects between JMU and Immerge involved multiple technologies and personnel including IT, marketing and departmental staff. Immerge has sent employees to campus for meetings to review site structure, content and iteration cycles. Immerge staff have even visited departments to observe how project staff interact with each other and other departments in order to better determine branding needs and improve site architecture.

These experiences have given Immerge a thorough understanding of the academic environment and target expectations for project management and deliverable schedules. Immerge also has five Web Manager 2.0-trained staff members to help streamline the development process.
